By law, employers with 100 or more employees must provide 60 days notice of a plant closing or mass layoffs. Advisors may begin by researching WARN notices in their area. Taking the company name and using LinkedIn research capabilities, advisors can identify contacts at that company who may connect them with workers changing jobs. At the same time, many online services publish job openings. Using this research strategy, advisors may identify new clients for their rollover business.
